YEAR OF THE DOGS
The Footscray Football Club is close to bankrupt and the national football league keeps trying to boot them out of the competition. They haven’t won a premiership since 1954, their coach is forced to resign, their youngest player is fighting cancer and the club veterans’ playing days are numbered. But the people remain passionate about their football club. It’s the heart and soul of the town.
Year of the Dogs follows the club through this turbulent 1996 season.
